Dr. Sherry Macpherson, ACS, LPC
Dr. Sherry Macpherson graduated from Penn State University with a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology in May 1986. Over the past 30 years, she has worked in a variety of settings including Inspira Health Network in their outpatient mental health department, the N.J. Department of Corrections as a psychologist and in administration, and as an adjunct professor at Rowan University. Since 2005, she has been a licensed Professional Counselor and recently earned her ACS that certifies her to supervise other professionals seeking licensure. Her career history has resulted in experience across diverse cultures and within numerous social structures. She has published in the field of Corrections, lectured at colleges and professional seminars, and was a certified instructor of the NJ Department of Law and Public Safety at their Criminal Justice Police Training Academy. While retired, she recently returned to part-time work at Kedesh Counseling Center, Inc. in Vineland where she is enjoying renewed energy in the counseling arena. When not working, Sherry enjoys walking, volunteering at her Church and in her community, day trips to dine and shop, and any opportunity to go to the beach.
Heather Altman, LPC
Heather Altman is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty-five years of experience in the helping profession. Graduating from Moravian College in 1994, she was awarded her MA in Counseling from Webster University’s Pope Air Force Base Campus in 2000. Her intimate knowledge of military life afforded her the honor to work with service members and their families to include critical incident and casualty affairs work. With a clinical background in trauma and grief counseling, she was a mental health first responder at the Pentagon on 911 where she worked as the Prevention Educator for the Military District of Washington. More recently, Heather has focused on working with children and families as the Clinical Supervisor for a tri-county behavioral health program that included two outpatient clinics and in home therapy. Heather has an eclectic approach to therapy and often pulls from her training in Divorce Mediation, Critical Incident Stress Management, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when working with clients. She uses her training to provide thorough assessments for clients seeking surgical treatment for weight loss, which includes strength based reports focused on client strategies for success. Heather has extensive knowledge of New Jersey Special Education Law and works with children and families involved with the Child Study Team process, specializing in achieving therapeutic supports through advocacy for children with Anxiety/Depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
